HP Touchpad

August 22, 2011 Posted by admin

Ok, I was attempting to resist the temptation to post anything about the HP Touchpad until I had already begun working on one, but with that said…

It looks like I may be getting my hands on a 16 GB touchpad as soon as this evening. I have seen talk about porting android over. I may leave that to the experts. I may not. However, I will be looking at installing Ubuntu on the tablet. I also have an interesting idea about installing several other OSes with the ability to switch between them on the fly… Stay Tuned!

January 12, 2011 Posted by admin

Go to Applications -> System Tools -> Terminal

Type the following commands:

sudo -s
zypper ar http://download.meego.com/live/home:/yanli:/branches:/MeeGo:/1.1:/Core:/Update:/Testing/MeeGo_1.1/ home:yanli
zypper ref
zypper update -r home:yanli

When prompted about the key choose (t) or (a)?  This choice is totally up to you.  If you trust the packages on this repository for now and in the future then choose (t).  Otherwise choose (a) and expect to be prompted again in the future.
This will update any packages provided by the home:yanli repository.

You will need to reboot before the changes take effect.

Dual Boot MeeGo and Windows 7

January 6, 2011 Posted by admin

Getting Started

If you plan on installing another version of linux on the Lenovo S10-3t then I recommend installing Meego first.  The Meego bootloader likes to be in charge and does not play well with other installations of linux and grub.

What’s needed

  • A USB flash drive – 1 Gigabyte or larger (if using a cd and an external drive you may jump to the Installing Meego section).
  • Meego netbook image.
  • Lenvo S10-3t :)
